What Maine Looks Like

There really isn't all that much to say except...Maine kicks ASS.

Sunday Newspaper Construction

I always thought that the Sunday newspaper was a really cool idea. Your dog drags it soaking into your lap every week and you get to relish over a thousand boring stories that you have already seen, heard about, or already fell asleep to at least once during the past week. Not with Instapaper and an iPad.

I will hunt all week for awesome articles written by severely underpaid bloggers. I simply click one extension button (Chrome) and BAM! No need to dry off a wringing wet paper and no need to own a freeloading dog. The plus to all of this? We need to find some jobs for those paper boys and fast. Look for Instapaper in your friendly neighborhood app store and please help the developer out...he is pretty pimp.

Digital Possessions Lead To Minimalist Lifestyles

I have always favored myself as a bit of a minimalist.  Sure, I can't whittle down everything I own into a 100 item checklist; however, I feel that I live with a lot less "stuff" than most people.  It appears that this "hipster" phenomenon has caught on and has somewhat been taken to odd extremes.  Now though, a reputable although, sometimes curt news organization has seen fit to take on the idea.  Yep, you guessed it, here is the story right from the BBC's teet.

Build Something Every Day

There really isn't much that can be said other than the title.  Humans are happily programmed to create, so stop talking about shit and start constructing that shit.  Framework, design, develop, have fun.

There are clearly too many posts of this kind running around the "interwebs"; however, take this as you will.  Wake up to the idea, sketch it out while you sit on the hopper, or even headbang out something creative while enjoying your favorite NPR show.

Give it a whirl, it really is that easy once you start

Sharpie Swings For Left Field With A Liquid Graphite Bat

You can tell a lot about a geek by the kind of pencil they use, be it mechanical or not.  I for one have resolved to only use a .50 mm Pentel Kerry mechanical pencil.  When I sign my name or write a check, I reach for a trusty pen; however, I always carry a mechanical pencil (and moleskine) wherever I go.  Now though, it looks like the folks at Sharpie want to rework how we use a traditional pencil.

  • Writes as smooth as a pen
  • Erases like a pencil
  • Becomes permanent like a Sharpie after three days.

Looks like I finally might have something to stack up to my Kerry when September roles around.
